Naruto: where to start reading
Adapts Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. Say how far you watched, and pick the book up exactly there.
at Volume 27 (manga chapter 244).
The original series covers Part 1 of the manga, ending where Shippuden begins. Continue from chapter 245, the first chapter of Part 2. Note that a large share of the anime's episodes are filler with no manga counterpart, so the book will feel considerably tighter than the show did.
Naruto (the original 220-episode series) leaves off around chapter 245. Pick the manga up right there:
Volume 27
Split by series rather than by season, because both runs carry a lot of filler and episode numbers map badly onto chapters. The original Naruto anime covers Part 1 of the manga; Naruto: Shippuden adapts chapters 245 through 700, which is the manga's ending. So a viewer who has finished Shippuden has already seen the whole story: there is nothing left to read, only a full 700-chapter version of what the filler episodes stretched out.
