What the show changed here
- MovedBrotherhood opens on an original military episode; the manga's first chapter becomes episode 3.
- ChangedThe early arcs are heavily compressed compared with the 2003 anime, reaching new material faster.
Brotherhood (64 episodes) adapts the entire manga to its ending. Because the final episodes were produced from storyboards before the last chapter published, there are minor staging differences at the very end, but the same conclusion. Note that the earlier 2003 anime is a different adaptation which invents its own second half; if that is the one you watched, it has its own page here and a different answer.
