This page covers MAPPA's 2024 TV remake, which streams worldwide on Netflix. It re-adapts Rumiko Takahashi's manga from chapter 1 in strict chapter order with no filler episodes -- a notably more faithful, less padded adaptation than the original 1989-1992 TV series. That earlier anime (plus its Nettohen continuation, OVAs, and films) is a separate, much longer-running, filler-heavy adaptation not covered by this page: across its full run it still only reached roughly volume 22 of the manga's 38 volumes before ending in 1992, four years before Takahashi finished the story in 1996. Two seasons of this remake have aired so far (2024 and 2025, 12 episodes each); a third season is confirmed for an October 2026 premiere but had not aired as of this build, so no cutoff is given for it yet.
