Vigilantes is a spinoff and prequel to Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia, following washed-out almost-hero Koichi Haimawari about five years before the mainline story; it is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and drawn by Betten Court, with Horikoshi supervising. Studio Bones, the same studio behind the mainline anime, adapted both seasons directly with no filler episodes. The one real wrinkle is Season 2's finale, which reorders its closing chapters and jumps two years ahead for its final scene instead of staying in strict chapter order. The manga finished in 2022 at 126 chapters across 15 volumes, and the anime has only covered about half of it, so there is a real amount of reading left. No Season 3 has been officially confirmed as of this page's most recent check (August 2026), though the episode's closing line teases one more season to come. If you haven't read the original My Hero Academia, that adaptation has its own page here.
